Mission Statement

Our mission is to teach young people life lessons through the sport of cycling, and to develop top-level regional, national and international junior cyclists. We provide a platform to help young people achieve their own personal goals in life and in competition as well.

Vision Statement

It is the vision of Rad Racing Northwest, to become the cornerstone junior developmental cycling program in the Pacific Northwest...

Integrity, Goal Setting, Sportsmanship, Citizenship, Honesty, Leadership, Responsibility, and Wellness are among the skills that we emphasize.

Rad Racing Northwest accomplishes this by providing...

Coaching

Members of the team are given general training programs that are directed towards their area of interest. Regular rides and team activities are scheduled throughout the year. Riders wishing to have individualized training programs can do so through coaching services contracted with the team in the form of sponsorship

Mentorship

The staff of Rad Racing NW is comprised of experienced and dedicated adults who have a vision for working with youth in the area of cycling. Putting high quality adult role models in touch with our kids is the key to the success of our mission and vision. Our staff includes Firefighters, Business Professionals, Technical Specialists, and Police Officers.

Friendship and Camaraderie

Great bonds between riders are formed through the program. Kids are able to find and share the common interest of bicycle racing with riders from their immediate area and from other parts of the region.

Travel Support

Through the generous support of sponsors and benefactors Rad Racing NW is able to provide travel support to regional, national and international competition. Coaching staff attend major races with riders providing coaching, logistical support, and trip coordination.

Financial Assistance

Riders in need of financial support can apply for assistance though the form of "Rad Scholarships", these funds can be used towards equipment, clothing, licenses, entry fees, camp fees, travel etc ...

Bicycle Industry Sponsorship

Rad Racing enjoys generous long term sponsorship relationships in the bicycle industry; this support is a key factor in achieving our mission.

Connection to USA Cycling

Rad Racing NW is a chartered and licensed USA Cycling Club. Coaching and mechanic staff are licensed through USA Cycling. In 2001 and 2003 Rad Racing NW was voted USA Cycling "Club of the Year". The USA Cycling Development Foundation has named Rad Racing NW as a "Center for Excellence". In the years 2002, 2003, and 2004.

Something Different

Rad Racing Northwest is much more than just another bicycle racing team. We are a comprehensive program, which introduces the sport of cycling to young people in and helps them to pursue their own personal goals.

We teach community awareness by involving our kids in community service projects. These include both cycling and non-cycling activities which have included in the past:

A healthy, drug free, structured environment with solid adult mentorship focused on teaching life lessons and skills through sport is the largest piece of Rad Racing's mission.

RRNW

True Success

For Rad Racing the true success of the program will manifest itself years down the road when members of our program become contributors to our community: Doctors, Lawyers, Police Officers, Firefighters, and Youth Leaders.
Rad hopes that skills learned in our program will help pave the way to this type of success for our program graduates.
